College Credit Opportunitie

College credit opportunities for high school students have evolved into dual enrollment programs that provide BTC students with transcripted college credits that can transfer to the student's college of choice. Currently BTC partners with both Vermont Technical College and Community College of Vermont.

The NASA Space Grant Consortium of UVM held the annual awards banquet. Of the fifteen award recipients, five were BTC Aviation Technology students.

BTC TO OFFER LAW ENFORCEMENT/CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAM

Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice will be BTC's newest program in the fall of 2007. This Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Program will introduce students to careers in law enforcement through classroom instruction, pertinent labs, field trips and job shadows. Units of study will include the court system, ethics, understanding diversity, criminal law, criminal procedures, interview and interrogation, the history of law enforcement, criminal investigation, juvenile law and corrections.

Another Skills USA Success

The Vermont Auto Body Association once again sponsored another successful Skills USA competition. The competition, held at Rotunda's Auto Body again, is for area auto body students to compete on a number of skills tests that closely resemble the national contest.

MEDICAL AND SPORTS SCIENCES RESPONDS TO STUDENT INTEREST IN NURSING

Nationally and locally, the demand and salaries for nurses are increasing. In response, more and more students are becoming interested in pursuing a career in nursing and are joining Medical and Sports Sciences while in high school.

They are well equipped for the challenges that lay ahead. Students continue to have success when it comes to college admissions.
