Parents and students Listen at Fall Orientation
BTC programs appear to be more popular than ever. By the application deadline of March 29, 2002 we found that we had to waitlist students in eight programs and five programs were filled to capacity. It is difficult to determine what has caused the surge in applications. Possibly students realize that BTC programs are valuable pathways to colleges and careers. More and more BTC graduates plan to continue their educations beyond high school and have found that colleges look positively on BTC's challenging academic curriculum, as well as hands-on experiences, job shadowing and internship opportunities and leadership activities. BTC students also realize that we are investing in equipment and teaching resources to a level unmatched in any Vermont Technical Center. Graduates tell us that not only did they get accepted to the college of their choice but that they are excelling in their major areas due in part to their experiences and learning at BTC.
