BTC Adds New Equipment

PT Run Stand

AVIATION TECHNOLOGY'S NEW TRAINING AID

Aviation Technology recently acquired a Pratt and Whitney PT-6-20 Turbo-prop engine run cell. This engine has a fully controllable propeller which is reversible and feather able. It is also equipped with a system which we can attach to a lap top computer and we can monitor the engine during start-up, run and shutdown to ensure all systems are operating normal. It was built at AVOTEK aircraft training aids in Virginia and costs $72,000.

WELDING/METAL FABRICATION GETS NEW PLASMA CAM

The Welding program is busy assembling their new CNC Plasma Cam valued at $13,000. This high tech machine allows students to transfer their blue print reading skills to CNC operations. Students are able to cut complex shapes and creative designs of all sizes from sheets of metal from 1/16 to 1/2 inch thick. The designs are generated on a computer and automatically transferred to the plasma cam.
