HUMAN SERVICES/EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND AVIATION TECHNOLOGY TEAM UP

BTC Preschool children visiting Aviation Technology

Aviation Technology students hosted Human Services students, preschool children and parents at the BTC hanger at the Burlington International Airport. The children were able to get a first hand look at BTC’s Huey UH-1H helicopter and Saber Liner jet.
The hanger houses the “Thirteenth Year” of the Aviation Technology Program. Students start working toward their A & P license when they are in high school. While at BTC juniors and seniors complete the general portion of their certification. They may then complete the Airframe and Powerplant portions as post-graduate students on a tuition basis. Two students who completed the program are now employed at Continental Express. Students currently completing the program have jobs promised as soon as they receive their certification.

Burlington Technical Center Vision Statement:
BTC provides technology and career education to high school and adult students as they strive to reach their future goals. Students complement their high school academic course work with BTC programs that have highly qualified instructors, state of the art equipment and work site opportunities.
