BURLINGTON TECH CENTER STUDENTS
ON A “SIMULATING” ADVENTURE

Students Visit Camp Johnson in 2003

On April 15, approximately 70 BTC students from our Aviation, Auto Body/Collision Repair, and Welding/Metal Fabrication and Mechanical Engineering Programs will travel to Norwich to participate in the VT Army National Guard Career Awareness Day.

BTC has participated for the past few years in this venture, however, this year it will be held at the new Army National Guard Brigade Facility in Norwich.

Students will be able to use flight and weapon simulators. They will see the latest in computer technology and have an opportunity for hands-on training in many different areas that correspond with some of the training offered at Burlington Technical Center, as well as expose them to careers that they may not have investigated at this point in their educational experience.

This event is being coordinated with SFC Conrad Watson, of the VTARNG, who has been working with our students for several years providing workplace readiness training which includes goal setting, budgeting for the future, resume writing, interviewing skills, and mock interviews.

Burlington Technical Center Vision Statement:
BTC provides technology and career education to high school and adult students as they strive to reach their future goals. Students complement their high school academic course work with BTC programs that have highly qualified instructors, state of the art equipment and work site opportunities.
