BTC ON THE CUTTING EDGE WITH NEW EQUIPMENT

Andrew Bessette and the New Pipe and Tube Bending Machine

BTC continually upgrades equipment to remain technologically current. In the past two years all programs have purchased new equipment and upgraded software. Electronic Recording Arts has purchased studio quality digital cameras and industry standard video editing software to put on their new I-MAC computers. Design and Illustration continuously adds new MACs, printers and upgrades software. PEAC, Design-Build and Mechanical Engineering and Design Technology upgrade their Auto CAD programs annually. Auto Body Repair completely remodeled the shop and added a computerized PPG paint mixing system. Automotive Science and Technology added the Rotary Lift for cars. Several programs are also beginning to use voice activated computer applications.

The most recent acquisition has been in Welding/Metal Fabrication. The new pipe and tube bending machine will allow students to complete a variety of projects. They are looking for jobs such as manufacturing bike racks, benches, railings, guards for SUV’s, etc. If you are interested in having items made please contact Bob Couillard, the Welding instructor at 864-2164.
