ELECTRONIC RECORDING ARTS FAST FORWARDS

Julia Porter, Ananda Moore, Stephen Shaw and Phil Mozeika

Ananda Moore was instrumental in writing a grant that netted the Electronic Recording Arts team of students Julia Porter, Ananda Moore, Stephen Shaw and teacher Phil Mozeika $5000 to produce a series of six public service announcements related to the negative effects of tobacco use. As a result the team participated in the "Our Voices Xposed" (OVX) training held on January 10th and 11th at the Lake Morey Resort. OVX is a youth-led, youth-run movement that focuses on exposing the truth about the tobacco industry. Team members had the opportunity to attend such workshops as Youth Empowerment, Social Injustice and Tobacco, Negative Uses of Tobacco, Environmental Impact of Tobacco and Nicotine 101. They were also able to interact with other high school students from around the state.

Other news from ERA is that BTC is now wired to the Vermont Learning Network which allows teleconferencing and closed circuit courses to be networked in Vermont and beyond. Thank you to Eva Marie Bessette and Tim Comeau for their work on updating the BTC promotional video.
